On June 13, 2016, an inaugural conference was held at the Magnus Hotel in Trenčín within the project "Women's Home Trenčín", funded by the "Norwegian Financial Mechanism" and the state budget of the Slovak Republic within the framework of the domestic and gender-based violence program.
Approximately 40 people attended the conference. Among the invited guests were also the representative of the Norwegian Embassy in Slovakia Ms. Eva Gašperanová, the Ministry of Labour Social Affairs and Family Oľga Pietruchová represented by Iveta Novomestská, representatives of the Trenčín Self-Governing Region, the Social Services of the City of Trenčín, UPSVaR Trenčín, the police and various other institutions concerned with the issue. The guests present at the opening conference learned all the important information about the project and the vision of the facility called BŽD (Safe Women's Home) for victims of domestic violence was presented.
